My name is Lane Montgomery. I am a web designer and consultant serving Jackson, Michigan and the surrounding area.

 

I've been coding and designing websites sites since 1998, and recently decided to turn what I considered a hobby, into a business. 

 

I specialize in what are called "content management systems", or "CMS" for short. You might have also heard them called "database-driven websites". Most people wonder what makes a content management system better than a static website.

 

1. Site Updates

You can update your site yourself. The CMS allows you to easily change and add content to your site without the hassle of using HTML code. The built in editor behaves much like a standard word-processing program.

 

2. User Management

Multiple users can edit and create content. Each user has their own login and password. You can also create user accounts for site visitors to manage access to different portions of your site.

 

3. Extras

The CMS comes with other great features such as RSS feeds, site search, and traffic statistics already built in.

 

All this saves you money, and allows your site to be updated on your timetable instead of mine.
